Construction Update and Green Roof Details

Posted: August 12, 2014

Our partners at Findorff are working around the clock to finish the remaining work on this phase of the Promise & Power project in preparation for the fall semester. We wanted to provide an update on progress and give you a glimpse at the weeks ahead:

Beginning this week, August 11, you’ll see the hardwood construction barricades being replaced by soft plastic/tape/cone enclosures.

There have been a number of questions about the green roof that was installed above the commons. The PDF link below is a description with details about the roof and it’s composition, but please remember the roof serves primarily a functional purpose: to reduce water run-off.

While there is much work to complete, we are on schedule and working to meet our timelines for this phase of the project. Watch for the new Commons, Servery, Café, A-Store (logo store), and library in the weeks ahead.
